Happy Thanks guys! Last year, I was so fortunate to be celebrating in Japan amongst a group of misfits. This year, it's back to the family, but I'm really looking forward my first 'family' holiday home.

I stumbled across this set on flickr. Maiko (Geisha in training) and Geisha in the popular swimwear of the Meiji-era. Ladies letting their hair down.
I've long made rice bags for long winter nights, sore bodies, aunt flo and anything else that ails you. But I read that cherry pits work just as well, but put off a sweet smell and are washable. Can't wait til they get here. Pits aren't just for spitting anymore. 
These stickers on Etsy are just so dang cute.
It was a pretty fruitful summer bounty (all puns intended). Nights are much cooler now though and we won't have much of a winter garden. Root vegetables, like tubers, rhizomes, and bulbs are snatched right up and eaten by our gopher infested ground.
Thankfully, there are loads of local orchards and farms to visit instead.
I will be eating my dried figs all winter, and dreaming about next summer's treats!
I love projects that cover the states. Even though I'm not a huge fan, Sufjan Stevens' album Illinois is a concept worth love.

As much as I love pink and polka dots, thirty bucks a box just seems outrageous.
Pretty trash bags however are all the rage. From Adrian Kondratowicz’s statement on mass consumption, to Japan's Rabbitkun gomi bags, everyone seems to be getting trashed in style.
My personal favorite though? The Oscar the Grouch bags from Sesame Street in an effort to promote recycling. Free (through certain school programs) and good looking.
